Four panelists unanimously chose Peter Farrell to be the Republican nominee to replace Bill Janis in the 56th District today.

While there were six candidates interested in the race, ultimately Farrell won the nod.

Perhaps his closest competitor, Spotsylvania GOP Committee Chair Steve Thomas, issued the following statement:

?While I am disappointed not to win, Peter is certainly an energetic, savvy businessman I can get behind,? said Thomas. ?Governor McDonnell has much work to do, and Virginia?s economy still needs work. I will work with Peter to strengthen our economy, lessen regulation and protect agriculture. He has my full and unconditional support as our future Delegate.?
